The Southeastern Massachusetts Festival Chorus (SMFC) is a 100-voice, adult choral ensemble which has been bringing its fresh performance style and adherence to musical excellence to the communities of Southeastern Massachusetts since 1993. Based in Taunton, Massachusetts, the chorus presents two major concerts each year at diverse venues throughout the region. Concerts are themed, pops-style musical programs and are accompanied by professional orchestra. SMFC’s directorial staff consists of Music Director Eric Brown, Artistic Director Steven Sprague, Assistant Music Director Corinne Varjabedian, and Accompanist Gabrielle Heath.
In addition to its regular concert schedule, the SMFC honors guest performances and special engagements by invitation throughout Southeastern Massachusetts and Rhode Island.
SMFC is proud to include among its credits, performances at the Tweeter (Comcast) Center for the Performing Arts, the Providence Performing Arts Center, the Tabernacle at Martha’s Vineyard, the La Salette Shrine, and the Hynes Center.
The SMFC organization also includes a group for children aged 8 through 14, the Festival Youth Chorus (FYC). Directed by Corinne Varjabedian, the FYC teaches young singers the basics of vocal production and performance etiquette and strives to foster a lasting appreciation of music and choral performance.
