The SMFC hosted a musical tribute to the history and lore of the Emerald Isle when it presented its annual spring concert on May 17, 2008. Held at the Taunton High School Auditorium, the concert celebrated the heritage of old Ireland and featured a variety of familiar Irish standards and contemporary Celtic compositions. In March of that season, the group traveled to the Providence Performing Arts Center to lend its voices to the World Premiere Tour of Frank McNamara’s “If You’re Irish…” concert, which also featured Irish recording stars Derek Maloney, Dierdre Shannon and Cora Smyth.
