Charles Dickens’ A Christmas Carol was the inspiration for SMFC’s 2011 holiday concert, which featured a program of beloved carols and traditional holiday favorites that recalled the time and place of the classic story. Rejoice and Be Merry was a festive holiday experience that included guest performances by renowned bell-choir ensemble, the Westwood Ringers, from Westwood, Massachusetts, as well as a dramatic reading of passages from A Christmas Carol, performed by local actors Paul Hayden and Bill McCarthy. Also this season, members of the SMFC made several visits to area nursing homes and assisted living facilities to share the musical program with residents.
