Audition Information

Singers wishing to be considered for membership should attend an Open Rehearsal.
Open Rehearsals are held during the first two weeks of the spring and fall seasons. Auditions take place on each of these evenings immediately following rehearsal.

Each interested singer will be asked to sing an excerpt from one of the selections that were rehearsed during that evening’s rehearsal. The auditionee will sing his or her voice part with a piano accompanist.

Auditions will be judged on the following criteria:

Vocal Quality
Tonal Memory
Musicality
Sectional Need

An audition may also consist of vocalizing to determine range and section placement.

The audition panel will consist of Music Director, Artistic Director, Assistant Music Director, and one or more Section Managers.

Singers will be notified of the audition outcome within a few days by phone or email.

Singers who cannot be admitted immediately may be placed on a waiting list and notified of future openings in the chorus.
